Perseus-201

The system was developed to detect and defeat any kind of unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), from micro-drones to large UAVs (micro-drones, drones, UAVs, paragliders, aircrafts). The system is very important to protect cru-cial infrastructures and objects like government premises and areas; military bases; VIP residences; border pro-tection; prisons protection against smuggling weapons, drugs etc where the UAVs should be detected at a large distance. Micro-drones are typically detected at distance between 2-4 km.

The system consists of 2 independent modules, which can work together.

  1. Radar module for UAVs detection.
  2. Jammer module for countermeasures

Camera system

  • Colour camera: CMOS 3.2 Mpixel, 30x zoom. CCD 8 Mpixel, 10x zoom (100-1000 mm).
  • Pan and tilt: Azimuth 360 degrees continuous. Elevation +20 to −30 degrees. Max. speed: 60 degrees/sec.

 

Software

  • GPS coordinates, velocity, radar cross section, range, angle, time integration of multiple sensor sources.
  • User defines fences.

 

Main features of jamming module

  • Remote control frequency jamming: coverage of all available civil drones
  • Variable output power to block drones from 100 m to several km
  • Omnidirectional or directional antennas
  • Directional high-gain antennas mounted on Pan-Tilt platform to follow the drone (track) and to transmit the jamming signal in the direction of the UAV (drone).
  • Pan-Tilt platform with antennas interfaced with the radar or camera system (optional)
  • Frequency jamming can be done automatically upon UAV detection or upon supervisor assistance.

The user may choose between 2 jamming modes: continuous/ manual jamming and automatic jamming upon UAV detection by radar or thermal imaging.

The detected UAV may be tracked visually by the thermal camera or with an external PTZ camera. The tracking allows, in combination with the directional antenna mounted on a pan-tilt platform to position the jammer antennas directly onto the detected drone in order to transmit the jamming signal precisely and focused into the drone detection.
